One of our members will use this site to record her experiences of cancer and obesity. Here is her first blog.
Being obese and then diagnosed with cancer brings with it the fear of being accused of living a greedy, lazy lifestyle so much so that even cancer is your own fault. My cancer is not obesity related. My tumours mean my legs don’t work and i’m hobbling and slow. Others look at me with blaming in their heart and shaming in their eyes. I want to wear a sign around my neck that says – “this is not about obesity” . I can no longer swim or go to the gym as i have all my life believe it or not – but no-one believes.
The tv says i’m greedy and lazy and not worthy of NHS care. I go into hopsital tomorrow – lets see how that plays out.
