Emotional Support

Obesity is sensitive and emotive and is linked with low self esteem and a reduced quality of life.

It is one of the most complicated and difficult medical conditions to overturn.

Have you or someone you know experienced the following:

  • Discrimination
  • Chronic peer rejection
  • Bullying and exclusion
  • Social Isolation
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Health inequalities
  • Poor quality of life
  • Poor health, mental and physical
  • Self harming behaviours
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Withdrawal from school,
    college, employment

We want you to:

  • Feel good about yourself
  • Feel in charge of your life
  • Enjoy good relationships
  • Increase your confidence
  • Manage your weight
  • Have FUN, laugh and get out more

Blaming and Shaming is a game we don't play. Balancing responsibilities and achieving a healthy lifestyle isn't easy for anyone. Becoming the best person you can be is always challenging and rewarding. We believe it's never too late to try new things. Having fun at the same time is what makes life worth living.

Julie, an obese 13yr old school girl suffered regular bullying about her weight. Every morning she would find an excuse not to go to school until she withdrew from school entirely. One-to-one support meant we were able to help Julie back into school and back into PE.

Paul, a morbidly obese 16yr old left school without qualifications as he had chosen to avoid school as much as possible for many years. With our long term psychosocial support he was able to make friends, attend college and gain employment whilst managing his weight.

Alice, a morbidly obese 38yr old, with on-going support, stabilised her weight gain before gradually and safely losing 3 stone in weight so far.
